With the Adelaide day/night Test match starting in just over weeks and South Australia and Adelaide currently in some end of lock down period it appears that the Adelaide Oval test may yet go ahead.
MCG, Gabba in Brisbane and SCG have all been mentioned as possible venues to host the 1st test. Gabba would seem the logical choice given Australia’s success rate at the ground not losing a test since 1988.
CA will need to confirm the venue shortly if they want to have a wicket prepared and people from media, travelling public know which venue they are heading in a few weeks time.
Test opener Joe Burns is seen as a key opener and likely to retain his opening combination with David Warner. Victoria opener Will Pucvoski scoring back to back double centuries in the opening round of Sheffield Shield cricket.
Test captain Tim Paine and head coach Justin Langer both backing the Burns Warner partnership over the last few test summers to continue at least to begin the test series from mid December.
The limited overs series starts at the SCG from next weekend before the Test series on December 17 and venue to be confirmed shortly.
