Australia excel in Old Trafford Manchester as Steve Smith Leads Australia with an epic 211 on Day 2. Australian Captain Tim Paine supported Smith brilliantly with an excellent 58.
Paine had been very unfairly criticised by many recently but he showed his class on Day 2 of this test hitting the ball straighter and putting the bad ball away with his lovely timing of the pull, hook and cut shots. His innings was Paines highest as test captain since the South Africa tour in April 2018 when taking over the captaincy.

Steve Smith is the modern master for Australia he and Paine both debuted at Lords in July 2010 and have held a close mateship ever since. Both amazingly ended up as Australian Test captains.
Australia close to retaining the urn as rain delays the start to Day 3 in Manchester.
A beautiful photo of the Australian Test Captain. A man we can all be proud of and an excellent representative of our country and our national game. Well done Tim Paine.
