Tim Paine leads Australia into battle with England on Wednesday unbeaten on the ODI tour. Paine’s inexperienced limited overs team has defeated Sussex and Middlesex in the lead up to the the limited overs series starting on Wednesday at the Oval in London.
Travis Head scored a great team century batting for long periods in a mature performance and someone Australia can rely on during this 5 match series starting this week and leading into next years World Cup in England.
Head along with Shaun Marsh and middle order all round super star Glenn Maxwell will power punch Australia’s power and energy in a tough series with England who are in rare spot as favourites for a series with Australia.
The series sees a big chance for Ashton Agar to establish himself along with fast bowlers Jhye Richardson and the very tall Billy Stanlake ( almost 7 foot tall) who’s extra bounce on the English wickets will no doubt cause some challenges for the home side.
This series will be skippers Tim Paines 3rd in England after previously touring the UK in limited overs formats with Australia in 2009 and 2010. Paine’s experience and all round captaincy will be tested in England this series but Paine has a great relaxed nature and that can make the Australian dressing room a very welcoming environment for a inexperienced team without Mitch Starc, Josh Hazlewood, Pat Cummins and Mitch Marsh.
