Australia Must Be As One As Tim Paine Leads ODI and Test Teams

As Tim Paine looks to start a fresh period for Australian Cricket starting with June’s tour of England it’s very important that he gets the support from those at Cricket Australia. While coach Justin Langer and Paine have maintained a close friendship despite not working together since 2011 with Langer then batting coach of Australia in all formats and Paine the keeper when Brad Haddin was not able to play.

The players all support Paine Australia wide he is a very likeable mag and leader who is very well grounded and supports those in and around the team. Paine has kept in touch with Steve Smith and even though he’s not skipper and unable to play for Australia until early April 2019 Paine has expressed a keen desire to keep Warner and Cameron Bancroft in the loop.

Justin Langer has a tough task finding the support of the Australian public but JL is very well known for keeping everyone close together in his Western Australia sides and also when he has coached Australia on previous tours to the West Indies in 2016 for a ODI series when then coach Darren Lehmann was rested in between tours.

Mark Taylor has made a few comments recently suggesting Steve Smith should return as Australian captain when his ban as skipper is over but this seems unlikely given his captaincy lasts for a further 2 years it’s very important Tim Paine is given the support he needs from not only the players but the faith and support that Langer and those above have in him.

Nathan Lyon is a player highly regarded as being like Paine who is claim and relaxed and unfazed by pressure his experience for Paine in England and In particular the Test side will be very important.

Pat Cummins may be vice captain but Paine has plenty of support from Mitch Marsh, Shaun Marsh and others. It’s a team effort.
