Tim Paine this week makes his test debut at the SCG the famous ground that remarkably a player with Paine’s experience has hardly played a first class match on as Tasmania have not played a Sheffield Shield match at the famous Sydney Ground for the past 4 years instead playing in Blacktown Bankstown and Wollongong.
Paine played a One International against the West Indies in early 2010 at the SCG and has played serveral BBL matches at the ground. But this test match marks Paine’s debut at the famous ground some 5 years after he played for Australia A against South Africa in November 2014 Where Tim scored a fine 50.
Paine has been very well regarded Australia Wide this current Ashes series and a remarkable change in confidence has seen the former Australian Under 19 captain return to his 2010 form which saw him debut at test level including a 92 in India. Exceptional keeping and batting delivering for Paine.
Paine has had a tough couple of weeks with family tradegy but he’s put it to the side when playing performing at his usual high level during the Boxing Day Test which was drawn last weekend.
Paine heads into SCG Test Match high on confidence.
